Background
Our client is a leading UK wealth and asset management group with €100bn+ AUM, currently establishing its European MiFID-regulated entity in Dublin as part of a long-term, strategic expansion.
This role sits at the heart of that build. While backed by significant Group scale and infrastructure, the Irish entity is intentionally lean, making the Head of Operations a critical senior appointment responsible for oversight, control, and operational credibility in Ireland.
The Opportunity
This is a senior operational leadership role with meaningful visibility across the Irish business and the wider Group.
As a member of the Executive Committee, you will hold responsibility for operational oversight, client service, outsourced activity governance, and client-asset accountability. You will work closely with the Group COO and Group Operations leadership, operating within a Group-led model while ensuring Irish regulatory and business requirements are fully represented.
Year one focuses on embedding robust operational frameworks, controls, and governance. As the Irish platform scales, the role is expected to broaden in strategic influence and operational scope, supporting measured growth across Ireland and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Irish entity, ensuring efficiency, resilience, and strong control
Act as the Irish business owner for operational processes, adapting Group frameworks where required
Lead oversight of outsourced service providers, including SLAs, KPIs, and operational resilience
Own client-asset oversight and governance, supported by established Group control frameworks
Deliver clear MI and reporting to the MD, Board, and governance committees
Support client migration activity and maintain operational discipline across all business flows
Sponsor and contribute to operational change initiatives, acting as the Irish liaison with Group-led change programmes
Participate in key committees including Audit, Risk, Outsourcing, Investment Oversight, and CASS Governance
The Individual
Senior operations leader from Wealth Management, DFM, Asset Management, or closely related regulated financial services
Strong understanding of CBI and client-asset regulatory frameworks, with the credibility to own risk and oversight
Proven ability to run well-controlled, scalable operating environments
Comfortable managing outsourced and cross-border operating models, with the judgement to challenge constructively
Confident communicator, credible with senior stakeholders, Boards, and governance forums
Commercially aware, with a strong focus on client outcomes and long-term sustainability
Suitable for PCF-42 / PCF-45 approval
