In this role, you will lead the mechanical design and development of new, next generation power platforms from concept through production. You will collaborate closely with cross functional engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to deliver high quality, manufacturable solutions that meet both customer and regulatory requirements.This position offers the opportunity to work on new to the world designs, influence product architecture, and provide technical leadership within a highly skilled engineering team.Essential ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical design for new product platforms, including concept development, detailed design, and release to manufacturingDevelop complex mechanical solutions across sheet metal, plastics, and machined componentsDiagnose and resolve complex design and manufacturability issues, implementing effective corrective actionsSupport the development and integration of new technologies into manufacturing processesCollaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are cost effective, robust, and manufacturable at scaleEnsure design documentation complies with Advanced Energy standards and applicable regulatory requirementsProvide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to less experienced engineers and designersParticipate in design reviews, technical meetings, and cross functional problem solving activitiesStay current with industry trends and emerging technologies and share insights across the teamMaintain organized filing of design and parts dataWork within project schedule and budgetsOther duties as assignedExperience5–7 years of mechanical product design experience, with additional experience in drafting or equivalent practical expertiseStrong background in CNC machining, soft and hard tooling, and design for mass productionHands on experience with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM)Proven expertise in the design, documentation, and maintenance of sheet metal, plastic, and mechanical assembliesEducationBachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineTechnical & Professional SkillsStrong working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ISO GPS standardsAdvanced proficiency with CAD, Thermal Analysis, FEA tools.
