Post Summary
The Departments of Economics and Political Science, within the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, invite applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Political Economy, to commence on 3 August ****.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise and mentor students, and contribute to an engaging, supportive, and intellectually stimulating learning environment.
They will play an active role in interdisciplinary curriculum development and engage in high-quality research, publishing in leading academic journals and contributing to wider academic and policy debates through collaboration, workshops, and conferences.
The post holder will also be expected to serve as Director of the PPES Programme, providing academic leadership in curriculum design, programme management, and strategic planning.
In addition, they will contribute to the academic administration of the School and Departments, including participation in committees, quality assurance processes, and other governance and service-related activities that support the effective functioning of the academic community.

Candidates should demonstrate an established record of high-quality research in political economy, with clear potential for further significant contributions, as well as creativity and innovation in curriculum and module design.
