Key Responsibilities
* Perform blood grouping, antibody screening and compatibility testing to support safe transfusions.
* Investigate and resolve complex serological cases including rare antibodies and haemolytic disease of the newborn.
* Issue and monitor blood products while ensuring strict compliance with national standards and regulatory requirements.
* Operate and maintain specialist laboratory equipment including automated analysers and blood grouping systems.
* Provide urgent transfusion support in emergency situations and collaborate closely with clinical teams.
* Maintain accurate records to ensure full traceability and adherence to quality standards.
Skills and Attributes
* Strong knowledge of immunohematology and serology.
* High attention to detail with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Clear and confident communicator able to support colleagues during major haemorrhage and trauma protocols.
* Commitment to professional development and maintenance of CORU registration.
