About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer to join our team in the fire protection industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services required for the installation and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
This is a critical role in ensuring timely procurement of high-quality and cost-effective products that meet project deadlines and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities Source and purchase fire sprinkler system components (e.g., pipes, fittings, valves, sprinkler heads) and related materials.
Maintain accurate inventory levels by monitoring stock and placing timely orders.
Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
Coordinate with project managers, designers, and warehouse teams to align purchasing with project timelines and requirements.
Ensure all materials purchased meet safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
Prepare purchase orders and maintain procurement records in line with company procedures.
Assist with budgeting and cost control efforts for material procurement.
Resolve any supplier issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies.
Stay up to date with market trends and product innovations in the fire protection industry.
Requirements Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a procurement role, preferably in construction, MEP, or fire protection industries.
Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler system components and suppliers is highly desirable.
Excellent negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field are an advantage.
