Senior Compliance Officer Permanent | Cork (Hybrid/Office-based) (3 days per week onsite) Salary 67k to 71k per year + BenefitsOverviewWe are hiring a Senior Compliance Officer to join a growing compliance team within a regulated financial services environment. This role has a strong focus on Anti-Financial Crime and plays a key part in maintaining and strengthening AML, KYC, and regulatory compliance frameworks.You'll work closely with business teams and wider compliance stakeholders, providing oversight, guidance, and hands-on support across onboarding, monitoring, reporting, and training activities.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and enhance the local compliance framework in line with regulatory and industry standardsMonitor and interpret EU regulatory developments, particularly relating to AML and CFTReview client and fund onboarding files to ensure AML/KYC compliance, including due diligence and documentation requirementsPerform regular and ad-hoc reviews of client filesReview and oversee sanctions screening alerts, account restrictions, and blocking rulesEnsure timely preparation and escalation of SARs/STRs where requiredSupport the business with due diligence requests and compliance-related queriesDesign and deliver AML/CFT and fraud awareness training, including tracking completionProvide ad-hoc training to targeted groups on specific compliance topicsContribute to internal and external reporting, including management and committee reportsSupport quarterly compliance and KPI reportingAct as a senior point of support within the team, stepping in for management as needed to ensure continuityRequirementsDegree in Law, Finance, or a related discipline (preferred)Strong understanding of the funds or financial services industry5+ years' experience in Compliance (2nd line of defence) or a related area such as Audit, Risk, Legal, or ControlsSolid knowledge of AML, KYC, financial crime, fraud, and market abuse preventionExperience working with senior stakeholders in a complex, matrix-style organisationStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesClear, confident communicator with the ability to explain complex issues simplyProactive, self-motivated, and solutions-focusedExcellent English required; additional European languages are an advantage
