Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to provide leadership and support in a nursing home setting. This role requires a strong understanding of HIQA standards, the ability to drive change, and a passion for delivering high-quality resident care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and implement best practices in line with HIQA standards.
2. Inspire and support staff through leadership, innovation, and creativity in resident care.
3. Conduct and oversee clinical audits, including medication management, care checklists, and equipment use.
4. Supervise and coordinate the admission process for new residents, ensuring a smooth transition.
5. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care plans, addressing their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
6. Provide training, supervision, and mentorship to nursing and care staff, including orientation and ongoing professional development.
7. Ensure a safe and supportive environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
8. Facilitate effective communication among care teams through active participation in daily handovers.
9. Coordinate shifts, ensuring appropriate delegation of tasks among nursing and care staff.
Minimum Requirements:
10. Minimum 5 years of nursing experience (including overseas experience), with at least 2 years in an Irish nursing home setting.
11. Previous Senior Staff Nurse (SSN) or Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) experience is desirable but not essential—training will be provided for the right candidate.
12. Excellent communication skills, with a strong command of spoken and written English.
13. A demonstrated interest or qualification in a specialized area of nursing such as gerontology, infection control, or dementia care.
14. Experience working in a nursing home environment is essential for this role.
