Senior Material Planner – Cork (Ireland)
Summary: This role is responsible for maintaining materials/planning data, supply data, and information for other production departments; coordinating MPS forecasts; generating production build plans for SMT and box build production; and using planning systems combined with IT knowledge.
Typical Day
* Load MPS with customer forecast demand each month and maintain forecast horizon.
* Run daily MRP checks to ensure MPS/MRP accuracy.
* Generate SMT production plans (monthly/weekly/daily).
* Review planning, purchasing and inventory reports with customers during meetings.
* Manage customer production orders for SMT and backend box build.
* Align production orders to the MPS demand forecast.
* Handle multiple production order changes due to customer changes, inventory shortfall, and ECO changes.
* Release production orders to the warehouse for kitting and transfer to the production floor.
* Generate CTB files for planning/purchasing review.
* Coordinate customer product shipments with Customer Services Group.
* Generate raw material sales orders when needed.
* Review customer E&O inventory and produce relevant reports.
* Generate weekly MRB reports for customers.
IT Experience and Responsibilities
* Develop plans and reports using SQL (MSSQL) and SSRS.
* Excel development, prioritizing VSTO solutions over macros.
* Design and build custom applications when a standalone solution is required.
* Serve as functional owner driving planning improvements.
* Replace Preactor; maintain scheduling/planning tools.
* Act as SPOC for planning to liaise with IT and deliver design and development documentation.
* Identify and act on other planning process improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in materials or a related field.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Background in electronics manufacturing preferred.
* Eligibility to work in Ireland (EU).
