A leading global payments organisation is undertaking a major multi-year transformation programme, modernising its core processing platforms into a cloud-native, event-driven architecture on AWS.
As part of this journey, they are hiring a Product Owner / Business Analyst to play a key role in the modernisation of merchant pricing, one of the most complex and commercially critical areas of the acquiring lifecycle.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact role sitting at the intersection of product, engineering, and business, focused on translating a complex pricing domain into clear, deliverable outcomes.
Merchant pricing directly impacts revenue, client experience, and regulatory compliance, making this a strategically important programme with strong visibility across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
Discovery & Analysis
Elicit and document business and system requirements
Break down complex pricing structures into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
Analyse legacy systems and support modernisation decisions (retain, simplify, retire)
Conduct market research and gap analysis
Solution & Requirements
Define and maintain structured, traceable requirements
Work with architecture and engineering to shape target-state solutions
Ensure alignment with strategic and architectural objectives
Delivery
Support backlog refinement and prioritisation
Own acceptance criteria and UAT support
Provide ongoing analysis throughout delivery cycles
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the bridge between business, product, and engineering
Work across regions and functions
Communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
What They’re Looking For
5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst / Product Owner / Consultant
Experience in payments, banking, or financial services
Strong skills in requirements gathering, process mapping, and UAT
Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe)
Ability to understand APIs, data models, and event-driven architecture
Experience in platform modernisation or transformation programmes (highly desirable)
