Overview
ATG are seeking a skilled Civils CAD Technician to join a transport team in Dublin. The successful candidate will support engineers and project managers by producing accurate CAD drawings, plans, and technical documentation for a range of transport infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, junctions, and public transport schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or equivalent) for transport projects.
* Prepare and update engineering plans, sections, profiles, and layouts based on survey and design data.
* Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure drawings meet project requirements and deadlines.
* Assist in producing detailed technical documentation, including drainage plans, utilities layouts, and pavement design drawings.
* Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with company and client CAD protocols.
* Support the project team with quantity take-offs and basic design calculations as required.
* Participate in site visits to understand project constraints and verify design data.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as a CAD Technician in civil/transport engineering projects.
* Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with MicroStation or other CAD software is a plus.
* Familiarity with Irish transport design standards (e.g., NRA TII, DMURS, CDM regulations).
* Good understanding of civil engineering drawings, layouts, and construction practices.
* Ability to read, interpret, and produce engineering drawings and specifications.
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality assurance.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Experience with 3D modelling, corridor design, and BIM workflows.
* Knowledge of drainage and utilities design principles.
* Previous exposure to public sector transport projects.
