This pivotal role will shape the future of sustainable energy delivery across a diverse portfolio of public and commercial sectors.Role OverviewThe Head of Business Development for Sustainability will play a crucial role in driving growth, fostering partnerships, and promoting sustainable solutions. They will lead on the efforts to secure new business through the development of forward-thinking solutions across a range of decarbonisation projects, including district heating systems, energy centres, and renewable technology integrations. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will liaise with clients and support in setting out the project scope to best meet the client's objectives, and engaging with specialists to ensure designs put forward meet the highest standards of efficiency, innovation, and compliance while supporting Alternative Heat's mission to drive decarbonisation in building services.Job Title | Head of Business Development for SustainabilityLocation | DublinHours Monday | Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pmSalary Competitive | Depending on ExperienceResponsible to | Managing DirectorKey ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business Growth - Growth Identify and pursue new business opportunities in sustainability-related markets, such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) services. Develop tailored strategies to attract clients and expand market presence, aligning with the organization's sustainability goals. Build and execute business plans to meet revenue and growth targets while ensuring alignment with climate action or decarbonization objectives.Client Relationship Management - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients, ensuring satisfaction and long term engagement. Act as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their sustainability challenges and offering customized solutions (e.g., carbon reduction strategies, circular economy services). Prepare compelling proposals and deliver presentations to secure new contracts or partnerships.Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification - Stay updated on sustainability trends, regulations (e.g., carbon legislation), funding revenues and technological advancements to identify emerging opportunities. Analyze market conditions and client needs to develop innovative solutions that align with environmental goals.Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - Work closely with internal teams (e.g. Low Carbon solutions, Bids, Pre-construction, Operations) to support with shaping the Project specific proposals ensuring they align to client requirements. Collaborate with external stakeholders, including policymakers, NGOs, and corporate partners, to promote sustainable practices and drive impact.Advocacy & Thought Leadership - Represent the organization at industry events, webinars, or conferences to position it as a leader in sustainability. We employ a strong team of design engineers, CAD technicians, contracts managers and skilled trades personnel who utilise their vast industry experience to assist in the design, fabrication and delivery of our bespoke MEP solutions, which we supply throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.
