Head Chef - Carechoice Montenotte, CorkReporting to: Director of NursingWe require a Head Chef to manage the kitchen in our care home in Montenotte, Co. Cork. This role requires someone with previous experience working in a nursing home kitchen, leading a team, motivating, coaching and training staff/HACCP and hygiene standards.We provide the highest standards of home care possible and are looking for someone who can contribute to our luxurious, high end service, delivering the best quality food to our residents.Key Responsibilities:Food preparation and production to the agreed meal plan with consideration for all residents dietary requirementsWorking within household budgets and reaching targetsCarry out regular stock takesSourcing, screening and retaining suitable suppliersOrdering goods using the purchase order systemChecking incoming goods to verify quality and quantityAllocation of duties, appropriatelyRosteringResponsibility for HACCP in all Mini-kitchens throughout Nursing homeThe Ideal Candidate:Experience working in the kitchen of a nursing home and with food texturesAbility to lead by example and demonstrate a strong 'team ethos' being positive and motivational at all timesAbility to work in a fast paced environmentBe able for the physicality demands of the jobConduct induction and sign off for new employeesEncourage, train and guide a team while maintaining a happy environmentBe passionate about elder care and contribute to their happy living environment
