Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Reporting to: Maintenance Manager
Location: Nenagh, Co. Tipperary
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the Maintenance and Engineering function, including external contractors, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of the manufacturing facility
Responsibilities
Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide support for all operational and maintenance activities across the site, driving ongoing process improvements
Carry out maintenance activities in accordance with site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Respond to equipment breakdowns and initiate corrective maintenance actions, ensuring appropriate follow-up work is completed
Assist in the operation and maintenance of site utilities systems
Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency gains
Manage third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring services are delivered effectively under Facilities Services agreements
Coordinate contractor activities, including permits, method statements, risk assessments, and scheduling of site visits
Perform routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment, machinery, and systems, maintaining accurate records within the CMMS
Complete all maintenance-related documentation in line with site requirements
Ensure all company assets are maintained according to manufacturer specifications
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, including fire alarm and ATEX systems
Oversee calibration activities and ensure compliance with audit and certification requirements
Adhere strictly to all site health and safety policies
Ensure all work meets quality standards, GMP requirements, and housekeeping expectations
Qualifications required for this role
Demonstrated experience managing a maintenance or engineering function
A third-level qualification in engineering (process, mechanical, electrical, or a related discipline)
Minimum of 3-4 years' relevant experience

Proficiency in IT systems
Strong written and spoken English
Experience in the food or dairy manufacturing industry is an advantage
Experience with preventative maintenance systems
Knowledge of utilities systems
Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
