Dublin City University Business School invites applications for a fully funded PhD scholarship within the Co-Centre for Climate, Biodiversity, and Water. This cross-institutional research initiative aims to address pressing global environmental and financial risks through interdisciplinary approaches.

Key Research Areas Include

– Mapping environmental risks such as climate change, invasive species, and biodiversity loss

– Evaluating financial, legal, and policy interventions in response to environmental challenges

– Developing cross-sector risk dashboards for industries including agrifood, energy, construction, and finance

– Contributing to the development of a live, cross-industry environmental risk indicator platform

Requirements

– A Master’s degree (first class or high second class) in business, finance, economics, accounting, sustainability, or a related discipline

– Strong written and oral communication skills

– Demonstrable background in both business and sustainability

– Professional experience is advantageous

– Fulfillment of DCU PhD entry requirements

Scholarship Details

– Annual tax-free stipend of €25,000 for four years

– Full coverage of EU tuition fees

– Research methods training and support for conference travel

– Interdisciplinary supervision by Dr. Aideen O’Dochartaigh and Prof. Julie Byrne

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed at the end of June and may be invited to co-develop a full research proposal.
