Job Responsibilities:
* Curate and set up art displays in high-traffic areas to market the onboard gallery, generating art awareness and interest among cruise guests. Art can weigh up to 50 lbs.
* Initiate and engage in consultative conversations with guests, educate them about the onboard art program and art auction business, determine a client's level of interest, and develop sales leads.
* Independently manage the full sales process.
* Generate client invoices while answering shipping, payment, and fulfillment questions.
* Be punctual and attend events early, as guests often arrive early.
* Participate in all required shipboard safety trainings and drills.
* Develop and maintain a promotional mindset, marketing the artwork, the gallery, and yourself continuously.
* Be coachable and willing to diversify your knowledge with the program, the collection, and logistics.
* Maintain positive relationships with shipboard management, staff, and crew while adhering to cruise line operations and requirements.
* Be open to feedback and constructive criticism.
* Continued education of sales process & art knowledge is mandatory.
Qualifications:
* Must be at least 21 years old.
* Fluent English speaker with excellent communication & interpersonal skills (C1 level).
* Previous cruise, hospitality, or sales work experience is preferred.
* A self-starter, dedicated, and capable individual who can thrive in a dynamic environment.
* Public speaking and communication skills are essential.
* Charismatic, energetic, and people-oriented personality.
* Able to handle physical duties like moving art and setting up displays.
Compensation:
* Accommodations and meals on board are provided, as well as travel to and from ship assignments.
* Entry-level Art Associates earn a weekly guaranteed base pay. After the first 30 days on board, Art Associates are eligible for open commissions based on targets achieved.
