Job Title: Staff grade Occupational Therapist, Community Mental Health
Location: Tallaght, Ballyfermot, Crumlin, and Clondalkin, Dublin
Contract Type: 6 -12 month agency contract (Full-Time, 35 hours per week) – Likely to be extended
Salary: HSE Aligned Pay Scales for a Staff grade Occupational Therapist

Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Staff grade Occupational Therapist on behalf of a HSE Community Mental Health team, who provide vital services to a population of over 300,000 people across four Community Mental Health Teams located in Tallaght, Ballyfermot, Crumlin, and Clondalkin.

These expert teams deliver a range of specialist and recovery-focused services, including:

1. Adult ADHD Team
2. Eating Disorders Team
3. Rehabilitation Team
4. Specialist Psychosis Unit
5. General Adult Community Mental Health Teams

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention as part of a multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Team.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Team, delivering high-quality Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to adults experiencing mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

6. Be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and review of treatment / intervention programmes for service users according to service standards.
7. Manage own caseload in accordance with the needs of the post.
8. Collaborate with service users, family, carers and other staff in treatment / intervention planning and in the provision of support and advice.
9. Plan discharge or transition of the service user between services as appropriate
10. Document all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports and discharge summaries in accordance with local service and professional standards.
11. Communicate verbally and / or in writing results of assessments, treatment / intervention programmes and recommendations to the team and relevant others in accordance with service policy.
12. Attend clinics, review meetings, team meetings, case conferences, ward rounds etc. as designated by Senior Occupational Therapist / Occupational Therapist Manager.
13. Maintain quality standards of practice and participate in quality assurance and clinical audit as appropriate.
14. Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality, ethics and legislation.

Essential Requirements:

15. BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
16. Full CORU registration
17. Previous experience working in mental health (desirable)
18. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
19. A collaborative, recovery oriented, and person centred approach.
20. Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills
21. HSE mandatory training (or willingness to complete before starting).
