Timber and Hardware Counter Sales Assistant
We are looking for an experienced Timber and Hardware counter sales assistant to attend to customers at our busy trade counter. The ideal candidate will have had experience with Timber products and building materials, as well as excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Service customers by taking orders and processing them accurately
* Provide product, pricing and availability information to customers
* Solve or find someone to quickly solve customers problems
* Respond to sales inquiries and provide advice, information, quotations and ensure the maximum level of sales and margin
* Keep customers updated on orders and deliveries
* Monitor customer orders and deliveries
* Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sales items as well as new products
* Handle customer complaints and returns, while showing a positive attitude
* Keep merchandising and counter areas clean and attractive
* General store upkeep
* Maintain stock levels ensuring that all areas are full and merchandised correctly

* Experience: 2 years in Hardware/DIY position preferable
