Wexford Salary: Up to €50k DOE Full time permanent - 5 day Roster - Monday to Saturday Two Shift Rota 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Automation Fitter to join our clients team in Enniscorthy in the FMCG manufacturing industry. Thisis a multi-skilled engineering role responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimising automated production and packaging lines. Skills & Experience Required Time-served or qualified Mechanical Fitter, Automation Technician, or similar role Strong mechanical fitting background in a manufacturing environment Experience working with automated or high-speed production lines Basic fault-finding skills (alarm diagnostics etc.) Experience with pneumatics, sensors, actuators, and variable speed drives Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Key Responsibilities Carry out mechanical fitting, assembly, and adjustment of automated production equipment Support the operation and optimisation of controlled filling, packaging, and sachet lines Provide first-line fault finding on automated systems (mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical/automation issues) Diagnose and resolve issues involving sensors, actuators, drives, and safety systems Support line changeovers, format adjustments, and SKU transitions to minimise downtime Assist with installation, commissioning, and validation of new automated equipment Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and continuous improvement activities Work closely with Operations to support daily production targets Ensure all work complies with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety requirements Accurately complete maintenance logs, work orders, and technical documentation Support internal and external audits (FSSC / ISO / customer audits) Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and NPD teams, the Automated Technical Fitter plays a critical role in supporting continued growth and automation strategy.
