Our Associate Directors are strategic leaders within KPMG Construction Advisory, responsible for shaping and driving the growth of our practice.

They represent KPMG at the highest levels across the industry and within the firm, championing our services, cultivating client relationships, and influencing business outcomes.

Associate Directors oversee multiple projects, lead senior teams, and collaborate closely with Directors and Partners to deliver excellence and innovation across engagements.

Location: Dublin, as part of our hybrid working model.

Grade: Associate Director.

Contract type: Permanent.

A Snapshot Of Your Peer Group

* Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in the construction sector, with a proven track record of delivering complex capital projects.
* Degree qualified – preferably in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture.
* Professionally qualified – ideally Chartered Status with RICS, CIOB, APM, or equivalent.
* Demonstrated leadership in client‑facing roles, with strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
* Excellent industry network and ability to represent KPMG at senior forums and events.
* Strong governance and delivery capabilities, with a focus on outcomes and value creation.
* Deep understanding of RIAI, GCCC, NEC, and FIDIC contract suites.
* Advanced knowledge of project controls and delivery frameworks.
* Decisive and analytical, with the ability to make informed decisions and articulate rationale.
* Proficient in project management software and digital toolset.

* Strategic Oversight: Lead and govern a portfolio of complex projects from inception through to completion and commissioning, ensuring alignment with client objectives and KPMG’s strategic goals.
* Client Leadership: Act as the senior point of contact for key clients, building trusted relationships, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality outcomes.
* Project Governance: Oversee the performance of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, ensuring robust project controls, governance frameworks, and delivery methodologies are applied across all engagements.
* Commercial Management: Drive commercial success by managing budgets, profitability, and resource allocation across multiple projects, while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
* Technical and Contractual Expertise: Provide high‑level guidance on technical and contractual matters, resolving escalated issues and ensuring risk is proactively managed.
* Design and Delivery Leadership: Lead coordination across design teams, consultants, and contractors, ensuring seamless integration of interfaces and timely resolution of design challenges.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Influence and manage senior stakeholders across client organisations, regulatory bodies, and internal teams, ensuring transparent communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
* Risk and Performance Reporting: Own the strategic risk register and performance reporting across your portfolio, presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership and clients.
* Practice Development: Contribute to the evolution of KPMG’s project management methodologies, tools, and templates, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
* Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and develop high‑performing teams, ensuring the right capabilities and capacity are in place to meet client and business needs.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects meet KPMG’s standards for quality, safety, schedule, and cost, and are delivered to the satisfaction of our clients.

You will be joining a niche practice area within KPMG, with a team of 50 people and growing.

With a broad range of competency and capability, KPMG Construction Advisory provides a one‑stop shop from concept to completion where clients’ key objectives are successfully delivered upon.
