Fixed Term - 14-month Contract
Reporting directly into the Superintendent Pharmacist and based at our well-established Pharmacy in Castletymon, Dublin 24, the ideal candidate for the Supervising Pharmacist role will have experience in a community Pharmacy setting, be positive and friendly with a can-do attitude, a strong leader and always willing to put the customer first.

Duties include but are not limited to;
Overall responsibility for the safe and effective operation of the retail pharmacy and supply of medicines in accordance with the requirements of the Pharmacy Act 2007, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) regulatory framework, and all relevant legislation and professional standards
Ensuring the highest standards of patient care and service are delivered as part of the Meaghers Pharmacy Team. Deliver patient centred services including medication counselling, adherence support and clinical checks
Provide or oversee pharmacy services such as Common Conditions Service, vaccinations, emergency contraception, blood pressure monitoring and other expanded services where applicable
Maintain high standards of patient confidentiality and professional ethics
Adhere to the pharmacy’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) – ensure they are implemented and followed by all staff
Work alongside a support pharmacist and lead and manage an established team of OTC assistants and technicians, ensuring that staff are motivated. Leading processes such as performance reviews and training and development for the full team. Promote a positive, collaborative and patient-focused work environment
Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with health and safety legislation and data protection requirements.Ensure any issues of a Health and Safety nature are brought to the attention of the Superintendent
Pharmacist and Area Manager immediately
Prepare for and participate in PSI inspections where required
Ensure full compliance with the rules and requirements of the HSE Primary Care Reimbursement Service (PCRS) for dispensing under community drug schemes and submission of monthly claims. Maintain appropriate records and procedures to supply audit and inspection requirements.
Overseeing the management of retail sales and assisting in healthcare and retail events when required
Supporting any change to improve the business along with senior managers. Identify opportunities to develop and expand pharmacy services, and to improve efficiencies within the pharmacy. Analyse and interpret trends to facilitate planning.
Provide support to other stakeholders within the pharmacy group to ensure the delivery of company goals.
Participate in staff training programmes and attend company meetings when required.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required
A minimum of 3 years post- registration experience and a current registered.Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland with experience of the schemes in the Republic of Ireland
Previous experience in a Supervising Pharmacist role is desirable
The successful candidate must have previous people management experience and display excellent decision-making ability and a sense of responsibility.
A strong sense of community and willing to further how the pharmacist engages with their customers locally in a friendly professional and confidential manner
Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient care skills
High level or organisation and attention to detail. Have a proven ability to work on multiple tasks accurately in a pressurised environment
A positive outlook with a friendly and approachable nature.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Flexible and willing to engage fully with all elements of the operation of the pharmacy. Experience delivering vaccination and common condition service is desirable.
