Associate Consultant/Consultant (Dublin, Ireland)

Location - Dublin

We are looking for a talented and ambitious Associate Consultant / Consultant to join our growing Dublin Insurance Consulting team, which is entering an exciting phase of development. As we continue to build our presence in the Irish market, this role offers significant scope for progression, influence and professional growth. You'll have the chance to help shape the team's direction and contribute to its long-term success.

Working as part of our wider UK and Ireland practice, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across both markets, contributing to a diverse portfolio of client work and benefiting from the support of a large team of talented, well-recognised industry experts. You will also have the opportunity to work with our awardwinning, AI-powered reserving platform, InsurSight, supporting clients in transforming their reserving processes and unlocking deeper insights.

What this role offers

* A pivotal role in a Dublin based team with strong and sustained growth momentum
* The opportunity to help shape and expand our Irish consulting footprint
* A progressive and genuinely supportive environment with clear opportunities for advancement
* Exposure to innovative tools and methodologies, including InsurSight
* Close collaboration with UK colleagues, fostering active knowledgesharing and joint problemsolving across the wider team
* The opportunity to manage and take real ownership of client delivery, with primary responsibility for Irish insurance projects

If you're motivated, curious, and ready to take the next step in your consulting career, we would be delighted to hear from you. Across our Insurance Consulting practice, our teams work on a wide range of impactful projects including:

* Providing independent review of general insurance reserves totalling more than 90 billion in recent years, across a broad range of portfolios - including personal and commercial lines, within and outside of the Lloyd's market, in Ireland, the UK and internationally
* Supporting over 80 insurers on capital and risk management, including internal model validation
* Acting as the Independent Expert on 20 Section 13 or Part VII transfers
* Transforming insurers' reserving processes using InsurSight, our award-winning analytics and reserving platform used by some of the largest insurers in the world to quickly and efficiently analyse c. 230bn of reserves

What will you be doing?

We are looking for someone to support our clients across all areas of actuarial and risk consultancy. The role is varied, combining client facing consulting, in-house client support and industry research. While experience in non-life reserving is preferable, we are also keen to hear from candidates with backgrounds in capital modelling, pricing and/or risk consulting. Specifically, you will be:

* Taking responsibility of key aspects of project delivery, working closely with the project lead and the wider team to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget
* Stepping into new opportunities with enthusiasm, showing initiative and a genuine interest in shaping how we deliver for clients
* Working directly with clients (virtually and onsite), either independently or as part of a wider LCP team
* Exploring new and developing areas of research (eg machine learning, climate change or cyber risk), and taking the initiative to develop your knowledge
* Producing high-quality client communications, including reports, presentations and day-to-day correspondence that make complex ideas easy to understand
* Presenting confidently in client meetings, building strong relationships through clear, professional communication
* Supporting in tenders and pitches, helping us win new work and strengthen our client relationships
* Contributing to LCP's thought leadership, developing your market profile through articles, blogs, conference presentations and involvement in industry working parties
* Keeping up to date with insurance market and regulatory developments and bringing that insight into your work
* Share your knowledge with junior colleagues, helping to build capability and confidence across the team
* Working to the highest professional standards, in line with LCP's internal frameworks and external professional guidance

Skills and Experience:

* At least 3 years' experience in non-life insurance, working towards or having recently achieved Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of actuaries and/or the Society of Actuaries in Ireland (or equivalent)
* Strong grounding in non-life reserving. Experience in capital modelling, pricing, IFRS-17, risk and/or machine learning techniques is beneficial but not essential
* An ability to explain technical matters clearly and simply, including to non-experts. You have a strong eye for detail, balanced this ability to identify and focus on the issues that matter most
* Confidence in communicating at different levels of depth, from concise summaries to detailed technical explanations
* A natural curiosity and enthusiasm for problem-solving and willingness to get involved in new projects
* Commercial awareness, with an understanding of how your work supports client and business objectives
* Strong stakeholder awareness, able to see issues from a client's or colleague's perspective and adapt your approach accordingly
* A proactive working style, contributing ideas, driving work forward, and engaging confidently with clients and colleagues
* A proven ability to manage multiple tasks, delegate effectively, identify opportunities to improve processes and re-prioritising work where needed. You can also work to tight deadlines when required
* Experience with coding languages, particularly R and/or Python, would be beneficial
