Fabrication Supervisor Role
Job Title: Fabrication Supervisor - Major Project
Liaises with: Team Leaders, QA/QC, Planning, Safety, Stores, Engineering Department
Purpose: To oversee the fabrication and assembly of steel structures and associated pipework/systems for a major project in line with quality, safety, and delivery expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise fabrication workflow and modular assembly activities from steel preparation through to completed unit handover to final fit-out.
* Coordinate daily team activity, assigning resources to meet production requirements while managing bottlenecks and rework.
* Monitor progress against production plan and proactively escalate risks.
* Ensure all works are carried out per fabrication drawings, weld procedures, and project specifications.
* Maintain and update the fabrication schedule and ensure meeting effectiveness.
* Verify and sign off dimensional checks and weld inspections prior to review.
* Ensure full compliance with safety procedures, particularly for hot works, confined space and lifting operations.
* Drive continuous improvement mindset on productivity, layout, tooling, and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years experience in a fabrication supervisory role (modular, industrial or structural steel background preferred).
* Strong interpretation skills for blueprint and fabrication drawings.
* Proven ability to manage teams to tight deadlines while maintaining quality and safety.
* Familiarity with ISO welding standards, inspection protocols, and corrective action processes.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
