Job Purpose
This is a new, and highly impactful senior post that will facilitate the development and management of the College’s corporate services and enhance the overall membership experience. Working alongside the Chief Executive Officer and reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this role is pivotal in ensuring that the College’s governance, compliance arrangements and support functions (HR, IT and Finance) are efficiently organised, reflective of best practice and aligned to the College’s Strategy.
This is a highly skilled and varied senior role, designed to support the CEO and COO in driving the execution of the College’s strategy across the organisation and ensure that leadership priorities are actioned and sustained.
This post will oversee the College’s framework for monitoring and reporting compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and will also ensure the College has robust risk management, policy frameworks and documentation in place that are fully operational and up to date. The individual will work with the College CEO and COO to drive a culture of innovation, accountability and working to the highest of professional standards.
This is a varied and interesting new role that will provide a great opportunity for an ambitious individual working in an organization at a time of significant growth and development. The role requires strategic thinking and judgement, operational agility, and comfort with navigating ambiguity and adapting to shifting priorities. It also requires an individual with a “can do” attitude, who enjoys working in a people orientated organisation and is comfortable making the tough decisions, when required.
Key Result Areas (KRAs)
* Strategic Planning and Execution
o Act as a strategic partner and assist the CEO and COO to execute the College’s strategic initiatives.
o Prepare briefings, tracks goals, measure KPIs and ensure alignment across all College departments.
o Provide strategic leadership across the corporate services functions.
o Where possible, identify savings and efficiencies from an operational perspective.
o Develop and implement corporate policies, operational frameworks, and service delivery models aligned with College KPIs.
o Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, COO and Senior Leadership Team on operational, financial, HR, legal and IT matters.
* Project Management
o Oversee high-impact, cross-functional projects with strong task coordination. This will include supporting the CEO and COO on cross functional departmental projects; membership focused initiatives and assessing potential for collaboration with external stakeholders.
* Stakeholder Engagement
o Filter communication, handle internal and external correspondence and prepare reports.
o Strengthen cohesion across departments by improving planning, communication and cross functional collaboration to enhance the GP membership experience.
o Prepare Board/executive-level/stakeholder presentations, reports, and briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
* Operational Excellence
o Drive and improve internal processes, including AI integration and facilitate decision-making.
o Facilitate Senior Leadership and Operations Team meetings, setting agendas, capturing actions, tracking and driving execution.
o Enable the CEO and COO to operate at maximum impact by managing strategic workflows, priorities, and time.
o In association with the finance team, ensure financial policies, controls, and risk management frameworks are robust and effective.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications Experience
* A relevant third level or professional qualification at Master’s level and/or a minimum of proven 8 years’ experience in senior governance, operations, financial, project and/or business management role in a complimentary function.
* Proven prior experience in one or more of the functional areas of Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Data Protection, Project Management or Quality Assurance relevant to similar entities (Charity, Limited Company).
* Extensive experience in drafting accurate, accessibly written and concise policies, reports and presentations.
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills, writing and editing abilities and attention to detail.
Technical competencies
* Advanced user of MS Office Suite especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
* Familiarity with financial concepts and accounting presentations.
* Excellent ICT skills with capacity to leverage technology and data to increase efficiency.
