Our client is a well-established construction company in the west of Ireland with an expected turnover of approximately €50m. They are now seeking to recruit a Managing Quantity Surveyor or a Senior Quantity Surveyor for the Galway region. The Role Our client is now looking to employ a Managing Quantity Surveying for the West of Ireland region. The role will see you in a management role overseeing a team of quantity surveyors currently working with the company.
Responsibilities / Duties of Managing Quantity Surveyor
1. Lead by example on the day-to-day surveying function on contracts
2. Managing the complete QS function
3. Valuations / Variations / Final Accounts
4. To ensure the maximisation of contract profitability
5. Ensure the protection of the company's commercial interests
6. Best represent and bring profile to the Quantity Surveying function within the region
7. Lead and direct the surveying teams in the day-to-day operations of the business
8. Recruit, train, manage, motivate and raise the abilities of all related surveying personnel
9. Bring continuous focus on cost control, value recovery issues and techniques within the company
10. Display and nurture a strong client/design team liaison and relationship management
11. Develop and maintain a supportive atmosphere on site and in the office that encourages a positive working environment.
12. Ensure compliance and promote good work practices in relation to Health, Safety and Welfare management systems
The ideal candidate would have:
13. Degree in Quantity Surveying
14. A minimum of 8 years as a QS and also some experience of managing other Quantity Surveyors.
Salary An excellent package is available with long-term opportunities with a well-established contractor. Salary of over 100k is available for the right candidate.
