We're hiring a
Financial Accountant
for a specialist
insurance / surety provider
working with construction clients across Ireland, the UK and Europe. You'll join a small, experienced team, supporting a growing business that partners closely with brokers and underwriters.

The role
Reporting as part of a tight-knit finance team, you'll take ownership of day-to-day and month-end accounting, including:
* Full financial accounting
: general ledger ownership and month-end close
* Bank reconciliations
(weekly) and cashflow monitoring
* Accounts receivable and accounts payable
, including payroll payment processing
* Insurance transaction processing in Sage
and extraction of TB to management accounts
* Monthly bordereaux reconciliations
* Comprehensive invoice processing and tracking
(sales and purchase)
* Monthly management accounts
preparation and reporting
* VAT / VIES returns
, revenue recognition and monthly accruals
* Generating and distributing
financial reports
for management
* Liaising with
auditors, brokers and other external stakeholders
as required
You'll also pitch in with general admin when needed - it's a small, collaborative team where everyone helps each other.
About you
We're looking for someone who is confident taking ownership, but still keen to learn and grow.
* Part-qualified or newly-qualified accountant
(ACCA / ACA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Experience in
insurance
or a
regulated financial services
environment
or
* solid grounding from a
Top 10 accountancy firm
* Comfortable managing the
general ledger and month-end process
* Experience with
computerised accounting systems

Sage
experience is a strong advantage
* Strong
Excel
skills; good working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
* High attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills
* Ambitious, able to work on your own initiative in a small team
* Flexible, pragmatic and service-minded, with a bright, positive outlook
Package & working pattern
* Salary:
€50,000-€55,000 (DOE)
* Pension:
10% employer pension contribution
* Health:
Reimbursement of health cover up to
€1,000 per year
* Hours:
Monday to Friday,
9am-5pm

, typically four days in the office and one day from home.
