We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and develop a high-performing engineering team of 15 members responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and innovative software solutions.
This will be 3 days a week onsite in Kildare and stock possible after 6 months
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers through coaching, performance management, and career development.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance engineering culture.
Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development planning.
Support recruitment activities including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
Manage the planning, execution, and successful delivery of software projects.
Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, and business stakeholders to define priorities and roadmaps.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to agreed quality standards.
Identify and mitigate technical and delivery risks.
Technical Leadership
Provide guidance on software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
Promote code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.
Support technical decision-making and resolve complex engineering challenges.
Drive continuous improvement in development processes and engineering standards.
Stakeholder Management
Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, Infrastructure, Security, and Operations.
Balance business objectives with technical requirements and resource constraints.
Required Experience
7+ years of software engineering experience.
3+ years in an Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or Team Lead position.
Experience managing Agile software development teams.
Strong understanding of modern software development methodologies and SDLC.
Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
