The Payments Associate is accountable for overseeing and executing payment and distribution processes related to Client Share Sales and Dividends. This role demands advanced attention to detail, proactive issue management, and strategic communication. The Associate will support system improvements, represent the payments function in cross-departmental initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-End Payment Oversight:
Create, process and monitor timely processing and distribution of proceeds from Client Share Sales and Dividends, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
* Strategic Issue Management:
Proactively identify, report, and escalate any issues or mismatches in payment processes. Take ownership of resolution, coordinating with relevant teams to minimise business impact and ensure continuous process improvement.
* Internal & External Reporting:
Prepare and deliver regular reports on payment activity, outstanding items, and resolution status to senior management and stakeholders. Escalate critical issues with clear recommendations for action.
* System & Process Enhancement:
Drive the identification, evaluation, and implementation of new system tools and enhancements to existing systems. Collaborate with IT and Operations to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control in payment operations.
* Stakeholder Leadership:
Serve as a point of contact for all payment-related matters, both within the team and across the business. Build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners, ensuring clear communication, high service standards, and effective issue resolution.
* Team Collaboration & Mentorship:
Work collaboratively within the payments team and across departments.
* Project & Change Management:
Represent the payments function in cross-functional projects, system upgrades, and process change initiatives. Provide subject matter expertise and ensure payment requirements are met.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar position.
* Proven leadership and project management experience.
* Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to set and execute business direction.
* Strong understanding of governance, controls, and risk management in financial services.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
