Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a Senior Dietician to join their team. The duration of the post is initially 6 months, with likely extensions thereafter. Working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an annual salary which will range between €55,000 - €65,000 (with annual leave entitlement of 30 days). Placement on the salary scale will depend on prior senior-level public sector experience. The successful candidate will accrue annual leave.
Purpose of the post:
The provision of a high-quality Dietetic service in line with standards of professional Dietetic practice. To deliver client-centred nutritional assessment, intervention, and education to identified client groups at designated centres, as directed by the Dietetics Manager or designated Line Manager
Principal duties and responsibilities:
• Be responsible for client assessment, development and implementation of individualised treatment plans that are client centred and in line with best
• Be responsible for goal setting in partnership with the client, family and other team members as appropriate.
• Communicate and work in co-operation with other team
• Develop effective communication with and provide instruction, guidance and support to service users, family, carers etc.
• Document client records in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies.
• Provide a service in varied locations in line with local policy / guidelines and within appropriate time allocation (e.g. clinic, home visits).
• Participate in review meetings, case conferences, ward rounds as appropriate.
• Maintain quality standards of work and co-operate with quality assurance
• Seek the advice of relevant personnel when appropriate / as
• Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality
Education & Training
• Participate in mandatory training
• Engage in performance review processes including personal development
• Take part in teaching / training / supervision of staff / others as appropriate
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) through attendance at courses, participation in professional networks, and reflective practice.
• The post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post
Essential Experience:
• Be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.
• Maintain annual registration and comply with CORU’s Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics
• Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
• Proven experience of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, including participation in case conferences, care planning, and inter-professional communication at clinical and administrative levels.
• Demonstrate expertise in the clinical area relevant to the position, showing advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
Skills:
• Demonstrate sufficient clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidencebased practice to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
• Demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding of the Dietician process, the underpinning theory and its application to the role.
