My client, a leading Pharmaceutical Manufacturer based in Sligo, is in need of a Production Planner to join their busy and growing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a Supply Chain/ Production Planner with GMP experience to grow their career. The Production Planner is responsible for the forecasting of efficient and timely production of high-quality vaccines. This is a critical position that requires excellent planning, cross-functional collaboration, and a keen eye for detail in a GMP-regulated environment. The responsibilities for the Production Planner include but are not limited to: Develop and manage detailed production schedules aligned with manufacturing goals and customer requirements. Maintain realistic timelines and ensure accuracy across all planning activities. Minimise production downtime and maximise resource efficiency. Coordinate with Engineering to balance maintenance windows with production needs. Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure necessary resources (materials, personnel, equipment) are in place. Identify and address potential bottlenecks in advance. Track and manage inventory of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods to support production schedules. Proactively identify process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency. Serve as the central point of contact for all scheduling-related communications. Work closely with Operations, QA, QPs, Engineering, Procurement, and other teams to maintain schedule integrity. The requirements for the desired Production Planner include: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of production scheduling experience in a GMP-regulated environment, ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotech sector. Proficiency in MS Excel is essential- experience using ERP systems such as SAP or JD Edwards is essential as well. Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional organisational and time management capabilities. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex planning scenarios.
