Senior System Administrator

My client who is one of Ireland's leading wholesale distribution companys is looking for a Senior Sytem Administrator to join their team. You will own and enhance their on-premise and Azure environments while guiding and mentoring a fellow Systems Administrator. This is a permanent hybrid position, offering the flexibility to balance remote work with on-site collaboration.
What You'll Do
* Ensure day-to-day reliability, security and performance across Azure, Microsoft 365, networking, servers.
* Lead/mentor a Systems Administrator and act as a go-to escalation point.
* Drive hardening, patching, identity, backup/DR, monitoring and incident response.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and future growth
* Partner with trusted vendors to deliver best-in-class outcomes across networking, virtualisation, infrastructure and cybersecurity.
* Influence roadmaps, standards and procurement.
What You'll Bring
* A proactive mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Leadership experience or a desire to step into a leadership role.
* Senior-level systems administration in a hybrid cloud setting.
* Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure.
* Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity best practices.
* Familiarity with vendor engagement and procurement processes is a plus.
* Cyber Security Oversight, play an active and guiding part in Barry Groups cyber preparedness while working with our partners.
