Applications are invited for a specified purpose post of a Chief Technical Officer within Biomedical Facility. UCD Biomedical Facility (BMF) requires a Chief Technical Officer 1 (CTO1). The successful candidate will have at least five years' experience in running a laboratory animal care and use program as well as five or more years of supervisory experience, ideally within an academic environment.
The BMF is a service provider to UCD's medical and scientific research community. The CTO1 is responsible for management of the animal resource programme, including the oversight of transgenic breeding programs and the day-to-day functioning of the facility. They are line manager for technical staff within the BMF and additionally provide a primary point of contact for researchers. The successful applicant will also contribute to the university's Animal Research Ethics Committee and Animal Welfare Body.
95 Chief Technical Officer 2013 (2010) Salary Scale: €72,816 - €89,432 per annum. Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
