Applications are invited for a permanent post of an Associate Professor within UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.
Position Overview
The School of Veterinary Medicine delivers a nationally and internationally accredited 4-year BSc (VN) degree programme. The successful candidate will join the Veterinary Nursing Section as its Director & academic lead, driving strategic direction across curriculum review, programme enhancement, and the continued development of both undergraduate and relevant postgraduate offerings. The role encompasses leadership of the veterinary nursing academic team, ensuring the delivery of a cohesive, future-focused educational experience.
The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching, learning and assessment within clinical veterinary nursing, with the potential to engage in the MVB or other School programmes depending on expertise and workload.
Research & Innovation
The School places a strong emphasis on innovation in educational design and actively welcomes candidates who can cultivate interdisciplinary collaboration, both within the School and with external partners. Research excellence is central to the long-term advancement of the veterinary nursing portfolio. The appointee will be expected to articulate and lead a clear research vision for the unit, and provide strategic guidance and mentorship to colleagues in strengthening research outputs, enhancing scholarly impact, and developing competitive grant applications.

Salary & Appointment
Associate Professor (7941) Salary Scale: €85,014 - €120,059 Per Annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
