Sponsorship is not available.Role OverviewThe Senior Applications Developer Architect will provide architectural leadership and technical direction across enterprise application platforms within a Government Sector organisation. The role involves designing, architecting, and overseeing the delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant digital solutions to support business transformation initiatives.The role requires close collaboration with Information Management & Technology (IM&T), engineering teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to ensure solutions align with organisational objectives, public sector standards, and regulatory requirements.Mandatory RequirementsMinimum 7 years' experience in Applications Architecture and Application DevelopmentDemonstrable experience in designing and delivering complex digital cloud-based solutions within the last two yearsOne or more of the following qualifications (or equivalent):Recognised Application Development certificationPrimary degree in a Technology / IT disciplineRelevant qualification at NFQ Level 7 or higherStrong written and verbal communication skillsKey Responsibilities & DeliverablesEngage with IM&T teams, engineering teams, business stakeholders, public sector bodies, and third-party suppliers to prioritise business objectives, information needs, and technical requirementsDesign and architect enterprise application platforms across the organisation's software environment, ensuring alignment with existing and future technologiesInterpret project and user requirements through workshops, stakeholder meetings, and documentation reviews to evaluate options and define optimal architectural solutionsProduce clear and comprehensive architectural documentation, including solution designs, schematics, workflows, and technical roadmapsParticipate in development, migration, and modernisation initiatives, including legacy platform migrations (e.g. Lotus Notes to Microsoft PowerApps)Provide technical oversight and architectural governance across projectsRecommend and document improvements to operational controls, processes, and proceduresMonitor and report on project progress, risks, and delivery milestonesEnsure architected solutions comply with legal, security, functional, and technical constraints within the Government Sector environmentManage and collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure effective and timely project deliveryEnsure solutions meet the highest standards of security, compliance, and data protectionAssist in resolving complex technical issues using Root Cause Analysis and subject matter expertiseProduce clear and maintainable technical documentation to support operational and support teamsCV Evidence Requirements (Mandatory)CVs must clearly demonstrate and provide evidence of the following competencies.
