Job Title: Radiology Assistant
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiology Assistant to join our team. As a Radiology Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Welcome patients and their guardians to the imaging service in a professional manner.
* Escort patients to MRI suites and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
* Assist Radiographers during Diagnostic Imaging examinations, including changing, moving, and lifting patients and equipment.
* Ensure patient comfort and dignity at all times.
* Monitor stock levels of consumables and report any needs for re-ordering.
* Replenish supplies, including gloves, syringes, needles, and dressings.
* Empty linen bins at the end of each shift.
* Liaise with wards to ensure timely transfers of patients to and from the department.
* Direct patients to changing cubicles for x-ray examinations and assist with changing if required.
* Reassure patients in general waiting areas when examinations are delayed.
* Assist in transferring patients from trolleys/wheelchairs to examination tables.
* Supervise and assist patients as needed, including toileting.
* Participate in quality assurance duties and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
* Fetac/QQI Level 5 in Health/Social Care (essential)
* Previous experience in a Radiography Department (desirable)
* Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
* Strong communication skills and clinical skills
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken
* Computer literacy
* Flexibility and excellent use of initiative
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Keen interest in a caring profession
