SENIOR MANAGER (Chartered Accountant) - Newry SALARY: Competitive Salary, Dependent on Experience EMPLOYMENT: Permanent | Full-time | Flexible | Hybrid (after probation) | My client, a well-established progressive Accountancy Practice located in Newry are currently actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience.
The ideal candidate will lead and manage a team whilst overseeing a variety of accounting functions and client accounts.
You must be able to develop client relationships, maintain a leadership role in relation to staff training and development whilst possessing a high level of expertise in accounting and taxation principles.
Key responsibilities include: Client Engagement & Support - Foster strong relationships with clients by understanding their business objectives and delivering tailored advice.
Respond to queries promptly and professionally to maintain trust and satisfaction.
Financial Oversight - Supervise the preparation and review of financial statements for Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited Companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Deadline & Workflow Management - Take ownership of month-end and period-end processes, including tracking progress on client jobs and meeting billing targets.
Tax Compliance & Reporting - Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, companies, and partnerships, ensuring all submissions are timely and compliant with current regulations.
Tax Strategy & Advisory - Advise clients on tax planning opportunities and corporate structuring, helping them optimise their tax positions through effective strategies.
What you'll need to succeed!
Fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) Minimum of 5 years in an Accountancy Practice Experience working with clients across a range of sectors Professional, technical and pro-active approach to delivering advice to clients Strong written and verbal communication skills Sound knowledge of income tax and corporation tax Good knowledge and understanding of Accounting Software packages (Sage, Xero and QuickBooks) and MS Office packages with a strong proficiency in Excel.
