Join to apply for the Senior Audit Manager Risk Specialist - Data Privacy role at Bank of Ireland.
This is a key and important role in the Group Internal Audit Team. You will act as the lead expert in this area and will be responsible for supervising assurance coverage across Bank of Ireland in Data Privacy & Protection. Reporting to the Head of Audit for Technology, Data & Change you will develop a broad range of relationships with key partners across the organisation.
As a high-performing Internal Audit team, GIA provide independent, challenging and risk focused assurance, insight and opinion to the Group and support the Group in achieving its strategic objectives.
Location: This role can be based in either of our Dublin or Belfast offices. This is a hybrid role with in-person requirements.
In This Role, You Will
* Act as the Senior Risk Expert for Data Privacy Risk within GIA
* Provide support and expertise in this area across GIA - provide guidance and supporting development of others
* Own and develop the multi-year audit strategy for data privacy
* Work closely with Leadership to ensure an appropriate assurance programme is devised and performed to provide objective and challenging assurance on a range of key risks across the Bank
* Accountable for providing ongoing monitoring and contribute to our periodic audit Control Environment opinion
* Build strong and sustainable relationships across Bank of Ireland (including the Data Protection, Legal and Technology Teams)
* Lead individual assurance projects from scoping through to reporting
* Develop & maintain an in-depth understanding of the key priorities, risks & challenges facing the Group and the accountable risks
* Work with colleagues in GIA to evaluate internal controls and processes to provide objective and challenging risk-based assurance through planning, execution and reporting of audits/reviews
What will make you stand out?
* Extensive subject matter expertise in Data Protection / Data Privacy
* Confirmed experience in Internal Audit or Risk and in an environment with significant regulatory or compliance requirements (e.g., Financial Services)
* Experience in business and industry knowledge in the key subject area
* Methodology & Analytical Skills - solid understanding of internal control concepts
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail
* Track record demonstrating sound judgement, drive, agility and resilience
* Strategic mentality with ability to translate technical issues into a business context
Essential Qualifications
* Certified with relevant qualification: CISA or CIA or ACA/ACCA
* Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) / Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) or equivalent

More About The Team
GIA forms the 3rd line of defence for the Bank of Ireland Group. GIA carries out risk based assignments, providing independent assurance to key partners on the effectiveness of risk management and internal control frameworks. This is a hybrid role, based primarily at Baggot Plaza, Dublin 4 or Donegall Square, Belfast. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person.
