Job Type Permanent Full-Time Category Urgent Care Location Carrickmines, Dublin 18, Dublin City, County Dublin, Ireland Job Details Role Title: Health Care Assistant Role Location: VHI Urgent Care Carrickmines, Dublin 18 A full-time, permanent vacancy has arisen for the role of Health Care Assistant in our Carrickmines clinic.
The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day activities for the VHI Health & Wellbeing services.
On each working rota the Health Care Assistant will work under the supervision and direction of Nursing Staff in relation to duties and responsibilities associated with patient care.
Nursing Staff will decide in respect of each patient the work, which will be undertaken by the Health Care Assistant.

Provides and maintains a clean, safe environment for patients and adheres to cleaning schedules set out by Infection control committee.
Assists with patient activities and care as assigned by the Charge Nurse/designee as required.
Transfer and position patients when necessary.
Assist patients with walking and other exercises as directed.
Report changes noted in-patient to the CNM's/Staff Nurse Documentation pertaining to patient care and associated duties must be countersigned by a registered Staff Nurse/CNM Ordering of Laboratory stores Attend to spillages immediately to reduce the risk of accidents as per National Infection Prevention and Control standards.
Ensure clinical area is stocked on a daily basis, work with the stock controller to report clinical products that need to re ordered.
Education & Experience Experience in engaging with healthcare organisations.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently as well as work with a wider multidisciplinary / multi-agency team in a complex and changing environment.
Places strong emphasis on achieving high standards of excellence.
Has the ability to rapidly assimilate and analyse complex information; considers the impact of decisions before acting; anticipates problems.
Demonstrates a strong willingness and ability to operate in the flexible manner that is essential for the effective delivery of the role.
Demonstrated alignment to Vhi values Skills and Abilities Leaving Certificate FETAC Level 5 or equivalent qualification Previous Acute/Community Hospital Experience A nursing Certificate (from another country) but recognised by QQI to be at FETAC Level 5 Proficient in use of basic I.
