Offer description

We are seeking to recruit a Project Officer for our public sector client in D2. The role will be hybrid with a minimum of 1 day in the office. The position is available for 11 months, starting August 25th 2025. The Project Officer will report to the Programme Manager for the Clinical Trials and Infrastructures but will also work closely with the wider clinical trials team, other RSF teams and the finance team.

Key responsibilities of the post of Project Officer (Clinical Trials)

The successful candidate will work in the Research and Innovation Infrastructure Unit. The Project Officer will be assigned to the Clinical Trials portfolio within the RAII Unit which, through open competitive funding schemes, supports the clinical trials infrastructure, networks and clinical trials grants.

During the assignment, the individual will be responsible for the following key actions / activities:

* Promoting funding opportunities to the research community and responding to queries
* Supporting the preparation of grant-related call documentation and peer review processes
* Supporting the monitoring, analysis and evaluation activities across the portfolio of Clinical Trials Infrastructure grants.
* Communication with applicants across the grant lifecycle
* Supporting activities with other national and international agencies to advance joint funding initiatives
* Supporting communication and outreach activities

Other duties may be assigned from time to time depending on need. This is a team-based role, and teamwork and coordination with others are crucial.

Essential knowledge and experience

* The successful candidates must have a minimum of a NFQ Level 9 qualification (Masters / Post Graduate Diploma) with at least 3 year’s appropriate research / professional experience in a relevant area.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and ability to work independently and as part of a team, are essential.
* Research experience is essential, but it is important to note that this is an administrative role and not a research role.

Desirable requirements include:

* Working knowledge of the national health research eco-system
* Prior experience of research management and governance
* Prior project management experience
* High degree of computer literacy, including knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and experience of databases.
* Knowledge of research management, governance, funding, evaluation and policy issues
* Knowledge of national health research, and of the Irish academic and healthcare research environment

**Please note that this is a full time contract for 11 months**
