Our SHEQ department (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) is central to maintaining our high standards of compliance, sustainability, and operational excellence.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Chemist
to join our team in South Co. Dublin, where we repackage and blend solvents. In this role, you will play a key part in quality control, product development, and process optimisation. You will also work closely with colleagues, customers, and suppliers to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control
* Perform chemical and physical analysis to ensure conformance to specifications.
* Investigate non-conformances and identify root causes.
* Develop and validate test methods.
* Source, qualify, and maintain testing equipment.
Product Development
* Analyse competitor products to understand composition-performance relationships.
* Manage product trials with input from colleagues and customers.
Quality Assurance
* Participate as a member of the internal audit team.
* Manage laboratory equipment calibration and verification.
Technical
* Optimise production processes.
* Support the introduction of new products and processes.
Essential Skills & Experience
Personal
* Strong work ethic with excellent time-management skills.
* Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively.
* Analytical in problem-solving and creative in developing solutions.
Technical
* Minimum of 4 years' experience analysing chemicals and developing new products.
* Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reports and presentations.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Proficiency in chemical and physical analysis techniques.
* Experience in product development.
* Familiarity with laboratory accreditation schemes and management practices.
* Experience in quality auditing (ISO 9001).
Qualifications
* Degree in Chemistry (with emphasis on analytical techniques) or related discipline.
* Additional qualifications in Quality Assurance are advantageous.
